Transportation

Greenville’s location on Interstate Highway 30 connects the city, via the interstate system, to both the east and west coasts, to the Great Lakes area and Canada to the north and to newly opening markets in Mexico. Proximity to a major international airport, a municipal airport and rail service make Greenville a busy transportation center for both commercial and individual clients.

AirMajors Airport - Greenville Municipal Airport

The city-owned airport, Majors Field, a Transport Category Airport, is capable of all-weather operation of private and commercial aircraft. The 8,092 foot Runway 17-35 has 1000 foot north and south emergency overruns and can accommodate large aircraft, including the Boeing 747. The control tower operates from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A pilot lounge and flight plan office are adjacent to the ramp area in the terminal building. Tie-down and fueling facilities for private aircraft are available through Greenville Aviation (903-457-2960). Aircraft leasing can be arranged through Love Aircraft (903-455-5919). For an airport map and instrument frequency information link to the Greenville Municipal Airport page.
